What Long-Term Care Insurance Leads Are

· Reviewed by Hyder Shah, Founder of InsureLeads

Long-term care insurance leads are prospects who asked about insurance to pay for nursing home, assisted living or home care. We build each campaign for the states you are licensed in, and every lead goes to one agency only: $65 for an exclusive real-time web lead, $90 contact-verified and $160 per interest-verified live transfer.

On the first call, ask whether the prospect is comparing a stand-alone long-term care policy or a life or annuity policy with long-term care benefits, because they are different sales. If they mostly want a death benefit, life insurance leads fit better, and retirement savers often start with annuity leads.

What Long-Term Care Insurance Leads Cost

These prices are the Life Insurance row of our rate card. Fresh orders launch at $2,500: a $1,000 setup fee plus $1,500 of lead credit, because each order is a campaign built for one buyer. Live transfers launch at $3,000. There is no long-term contract.

Why Prospects Ask: The Cost of Care

The federal Administration for Community Living estimates that someone turning 65 today has almost a 70% chance of needing some type of long-term care services and supports. The same page says one-third of today’s 65-year-olds may never need it, 20 percent will need it for longer than five years, and women need care longer (3.7 years) than men (2.2 years) (ACL, last updated 2020).

What that care costs is what brings the prospect to the call. CareScout’s 2025 national medians (CareScout Cost of Care Survey):

Care setting2025 national median
Nursing home, private room$129,575 a year ($355 a day)
Nursing home, semi-private room$114,975 a year ($315 a day)
Assisted living$74,400 a year ($6,200 a month)
Non-medical home caregiver$35 an hour

These are national medians. Costs differ by state and city, so quote from the prospect’s own area.

Training Before You Sell Long-Term Care

Some states require long-term care training on top of the license. Minnesota, for example, requires an initial long-term care course of at least eight hours and at least four hours of ongoing training every 24 months, and the course must cover the state’s qualified long-term care partnership program (Minn. Stat. § 60K.365). Wisconsin set its initial course at no less than eight hours, two of them on Wisconsin-specific Medicaid and long-term care information (Wisconsin OCI bulletin, 2008).

Other states set their own hours, so confirm your training is current in every state you order before the first lead arrives. For the license itself, see our agent licensing guide.

How Long-Term Care Leads Are Generated

InsureLeads generates leads through organic search on our own insurance content and through managed paid search and social campaigns run for each client. Prospects submit their own details on our landing pages, where TCPA consent is captured with a TrustedForm or Jornaya certificate. We do not buy exclusive leads from third-party data brokers.

Every order starts with the states you are licensed in, because no fresh lead exists until a campaign is built; how it works walks through the launch, and how we source leads sets out each channel and the checks every lead passes.
