Preset Appointment

A lead format where an intake agent schedules a specific date and time for the consumer to speak with the buying agent, delivered with calendar invite.

Also known as: Set Appointment · Scheduled Appointment · Booked Appointment

Full Definition

A preset appointment is a lead in which a vendor's intake agent has already pre-qualified the consumer and scheduled a specific date and time for the consumer to speak with the buying agent — usually delivered with a calendar invite (Google Calendar, Calendly, or SMS reminder). Preset appointments are common in IUL, annuity, and final expense sales where the conversation is consultative. Pricing typically runs $75–$200 per appointment depending on vertical and show rate guarantee. The key metric is show rate — the percentage of appointments where the consumer actually answers at the scheduled time. Industry show rates range from 40% (cold-set appointments) to 75% (high-intent pre-sell with reminders). Many preset programs include replacement credits for no-shows.

Example

An IUL lead vendor sets 20 preset appointments for an agent over a week at $125 each ($2,500 total). 13 consumers answered at the scheduled time (65% show rate). Of those, the agent closed 3 policies at $4,200 average FYC.
